Mississippi Children`s Music Theater is happy to announce two new members of its staff. Two students from Theater Department of Belhaven University will join MCMT as directors of the coming show Pirates Of The Curry Bean.
James Kenyon is senior pursuing his BFA in Acting at Belhaven University. His experience at Belhaven ranges from theatre production to performing onstage. His most recent work includes the role of Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps going up in late October 2016.
Previous titles include Assistant director for ‘Night Mother,
Stage Manager for Shrek The Musical, lead puppeteer for Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, and an ensemble member in Godspell, and Curtains.
This past summer, he participated in the 2016 Shining Light Impact Tour on the drama team and hopes to work with them again. He grew up in Miami, Florida but recently relocated to Southwestern Pennsylvania.
He looks forward to working with the Mississippi Children’s Music Theatre for their 2016-2017 season
Marie Haynes is a BA Theatre Major with an emphasis in Dramatic Writing at Belhaven University. Throughout her time at Belhaven, she has worked backstage on many productions from dresser to stage managing, she also played the role of Straw, one of the three pigs in Shrek: the Musical. Marie’s most recent jobs have been both dramaturg and sound designer for Big Fish: the Musical.
Marie is incredibly excited to be a part of the Mississippi Children`s Music Theater staff and is thankful for this opportunity.
